Salt and Ice (2026)
Rival skaters. A dying rink. One last chance to triumph.
Mikael Fitzgibbons was once destined for the Olympics, but now hides behind laughter and carefree spins, all while watching his dreams slip away one missed landing at a time.
Daniil Ivanov skates with machine precision, honouring the memory of parents who gave everything for his future. But technical perfection can't fill the silence in the house they left behind.
When their coach announces that Oceancrest Ice Arena, the only rink for hours along the Australian coast, is closing, bitter rivals Mik and Daniil face an impossible choice: work together or lose everything.
With family secrets unravelling and time running out, they'll risk everything on one final performance. Because saving their rink means more than keeping the lights on — it means discovering that sometimes the person standing in your way might be the very one who helps you fly.

About J D Lear
Hey there! I'm an Aussie author diving into the literary world with my debut book, "Salt and Ice," which follows the fierce rivalry of figure skaters in a fun fictional seaside town. When I'm not writing, you can find me hanging out with my husband, our dog, and a bunch of quirky cats. I love sipping coffee and hitting the ice to skate around, soaking up all the inspiration life has to offer!
